David Bean

David Bean is the son of a high school English teacher and grew up with an interest in linguistics and technology. He co-founded Attensity Corporation in January 2000, and is currently its chief technology officer and vice president of engineering. At the City of Boise, Beaty embarked on an enterprise-wide information technology strategic plan and it soon became apparent that while the city web site was robust with information it was ripe to serve the citizenry better with on-line transactions.   Several initiatives emerged; a content management solution, a citizen relationship management system and components of electronic government.   All are on the top of the priority list for the city in its three-year IT Plan. Beaty has been an active participant in every community in which he has resided playing active roles in Goodwills of Northern and Southern California, various Credit Unions, local community colleges and various charity organizations. Beaty resides in Boise, Idaho with his wife and two dogs; with three daughters living in New York, Oklahoma and Texas.

François Bourdoncle

François Bourdoncle, a pioneer of the search engine software market, is the president and chief executive officer of Exalead. In 2000, he co-founded Exalead with the goal of revolutionizing the search engine software market by providing users with a unified technology platform to access information in the enterprise. With a deep background in engineering and R&D, Bourdoncle is truly passionate about technology. He can be credited with the development of Jazz, a programming language designed for synchronous digital circuits, as well as Exascript, an object-oriented XML programming language based on JavaTM technology. Prior to Exalead, Bourdoncle was a researcher at both Digital Paris Research Laboratory and Digital Systems Research Center in Palo Alto, Calif. While at Ecole des Mines de Paris, he collaborated with Patrice Bertin, an Exalead co-founder and the company's chief technology officer, on the LiveTopics project for AltaVista. Bourdoncle holds a PhD. in computer science from Paris-based École Polytechnique. He is the author of several various technical papers and publications, and is a frequent speaker at industry events.

Bill Cava

Greg Duncan has been the manager of eGovernment for the city of Las Vegas since May 2004, responsible for the electronic delivery of information and services to citizens.   Prior to joining the city, he lived in Chicago where he managed web sites and applications in the private sector for over seven years.   As Internet Project Leader at Amoco Corporation, Greg managed a cross-functional team of designers and developers responsible for the company’s web site.   He performed a similar role managing web application development as Web Project Leader at Comdisco.   Greg has been a presenter at several industry conferences about web site management and online crisis communications.   In 2000, he and his wife were married in a hot air balloon in Las Vegas, just three miles from the home they now share with their 21-month old son.

Dell Joshi brings more than 12 years of experience in the information content industry. Dell is the Manager for Information and Content Management and the Six Sigma Deployment Champion in the Information and Computing Technologies (I&CT) division of Central Research and Development in DuPont. Leigh L. Klotz, Jr. is a senior software architect with Xerox DocuShare, and was editor of the World-Wide Web Consortium XForms 1.0 Recommendation.   He has been active in document capture, user interface, and document management projects at Fuji Xerox, PARC and Xerox Corporation.   Klotz graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1989 and prior to graduation, held research staff positions at the MIT Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science, and the UC Berkeley School department of Education in math, science and technology. Klotz holds five U.S. patents. Xerox DocuShare broke new ground in 1992 when it launched the first community-maintained web-based document management system, which was enabled by building on new HTML features designed by Xerox PARC and incorporated into HTML specifications [IETF RFC 1867].   DocuShare has today grown into an enterprise content management application. In 2006, Xerox joins the social computing community by bringing new tools to the enterprise, using XForms and other new W3C XML standards.

Pat joined HP in 1995 and has held a number of management positions in sales, marketing, product development/R&D and operations. He was recruited to HP to start up a new high volume business, now part of Agilent Technologies, and obtained one of the largest Test & Measurement Contracts ever awarded and implemented. He then moved to the Intel server business (NSD) to run current product engineering, support functions and strategic accounts. His next assignment was driving the IPG western area consulting organization where he enjoyed battling and taking business from Xerox and Lexmark. While in the field, he listened to customers' needs for conducting business over the internet, and then moved to BCO to start up and deploy the company's   eProcurement capabilities and drive internet portal programs. Pat was then asked to turn his focus to one of the company’s core operational challenges which led to his most recent role. Initially delivering the company’s first broadly deployed (panHP) structured and unstructured content management ecosystems, he now leads the Content and Product Data Management function within the company. The organization improves marketing effectiveness, sales productivity, revenue and TCE while reducing cost to serve across all businesses. He has consulted for both end-use and technology vendor firms including General Motors, Nokia, Adobe, Documentum, IBM, Amway, CanWest, TeliaSonera, Getty Images, ClearStory, and NorthPlains. Recent projects focused on unified access to multiple content repositories using portal systems and establishing new revenue channels leveraging existing content. Joel brings in-depth, hands-on knowledge to a broad range of consulting work including business cases and ROI models, future state vision and roadmaps, content architecture, taxonomy and metadata design, legacy content migration, system architecture, technology vendor selection, project management, and interface, standards, organizational, and workflow design. He holds a BS degree in Electronic Publishing and Imaging from Cal Poly, SLO. He has also worked in the production trenches as a pressman, camera operator, page assembler, and retoucher for various printing firms, color trade shops, and print brokerages.

Scott Wolf
Transforming The Enterprise IA - Task Management Systems

Scott Wolff is principal of WOLFF & Associates, LLC, a consulting company providing expertise in Publishing, Outsourcing, XML and Content Management – helping enterprises achieve productivity by design. Prior to starting WOLFF & Associates, Scott worked for 17 years with Hewlett Packard Company where he introduce an extensive single sourcing strategy for centrally managing, automating and outsourcing publications development and localization. Scott Wolff also led initiatives to standardize all HP technical publications. As an Engineer for HP, Scott Wolff managed production teams, technical publications teams, outsourcing and developed software. Prior to HP, Scott worked for General Motors Hughes and IBM where he assisted a senior scientist with the development of an early version of the multi media PC in use today. Scott recieved his degree in Industrial Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1985 and later a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a second master’s degree in Computer Science.

Charlie Wood

Charlie Wood is the founder of Spanning Partners, an independent consulting firm specializing in adding RSS support to enterprise applications. Spanning Partners also operates a variety of enterprise RSS services including Spanning Salesforce, which delivers information from Salesforce.com via secure, personalized feeds. Charlie has over 10 years of startup experience, including roles in software development, presales, sales, and product management. Most recently he served as vice president of enterprise solutions for NewsGator Technologies. Previously he was director of enterprise solutions at Stellent. Charlie also served as group product manager for content management and syndication at Vignette. Sine June 2004, he has operated Moonwatcher (globelogger.com/moonwatcher), a blog covering the emergence of RSS in the enterprise. Charlie holds a BA in Computer Science from The University of Texas. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and twin boys.
